Find Relief and Support with Compression Wear

Who Will They Help?

Wearing compression stockings or socks is a simple, yet effective option for managing some conditions and providing relief. We recommend them for swollen, aching and tired legs and for people who stand or sit all day. Long car or plane trips reduce leg movement, so wearing compression stockings or socks help maintain blood flow back to your heart and lower the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

People with the following conditions will benefit:

  • Varicose veins and venous insufficiency
  • Travellers – particularly those travelling long distance
  • Pregnancy
  • Surgery recovery
  • Previous DVT and blood clots
  • Leg ulcers, Lyphoedema, Oedema, Lipoedema

Once you have purchased your compression socks we recommend replacing them every 6-9 months.

How Compression Works

The Science of Compression

Compression stockings and socks are made from elasticated nylon blends. They are designed with an in-built pressure gradient, which promotes flow of venous blood and any tissue fluid out of the legs and eventually back to the heart. This stops pooling of blood and fluid at the ankles.

Our specialist team recommends high quality, properly measured and fitted stockings and socks. This will ensure the most medical benefit and comfort for your condition. Buying from a reputable medical supplier is essential for optimum benefits.

Grades, Styles, and Levels

We stock German or Swiss brands because the quality and durability is high. We recommend below-knee graduated stockings or socks for most people, except where thigh-high stockings are necessary after vein treatment or surgery to ensure the best outcome.

There are three compression levels: Level 1 has the lowest compression, level 2 is midway, with level 3 the highest. We recommend level 1 for most people, giving a good balance between comfort and results.
